How it works
Your clips play into a canvas in your own browser and are recorded straight from it, so no footage is ever uploaded — a holiday film, a client's material or an interview stays on your machine. Photos can sit on the timeline next to video, so a title card or a still is just another clip. Every overlay is placed by dragging it onto the picture and carries its own start and end time, which is how you get a lower third that appears when someone starts talking and disappears when they stop. Because the recording happens in real time, a long film takes as long to export as it does to watch.
Why does exporting take as long as the film?
Because the video is recorded from the picture as it plays, exactly as a screen recorder would. The alternative is to send your footage to a server and render it there, which is faster but means uploading your material to someone else's machine. We chose privacy over speed.
Can I edit the sound in here?
Only what the picture needs: keep the original sound, silence it, or drop in a different track and set its level. Real audio work — cutting, retuning, mixing several takes, removing noise — belongs in the audio studio. Finish the sound there, download it, and bring it back here as the new soundtrack.
Which file do I get?
WebM on Chrome, Firefox and Edge, MP4 on Safari — whichever your browser records natively. Both play everywhere modern and can be uploaded straight to YouTube. There is also a GIF export for short, silent loops.
Is there a limit?
The free tier caps the length and size of each clip you bring in, and adds a small mark to the corner. A day pass or a subscription removes both, and then the only limit is your own device.
